The Red foot Tortoise (Chelonoidis carbonarius) is a medium-sized species of tortoise native to South America, specifically found in parts of northern South America, including Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, and some Caribbean islands. They inhabit a variety of environments, such as tropical rainforests, savannas, and dry forests.

Adult red-footed tortoises typically reach lengths of 12 to 16 inches (30 to 40 cm). In captivity, with proper care, red-footed tortoises can live for several decades. They have been known to live well into their 50s or longer.

Red-footed tortoises are omnivores, with a diet that includes a mix of plant matter, fruits, vegetables, and occasionally small invertebrates. They are opportunistic feeders and consume a variety of foods in their natural habitat.
